Without scoring, solution sits on the surface and can't reach the glue. With it, wallpaper comes away cleanly in large sections.

Why Scoring Makes the Difference

Vinyl, foil, and painted wallpapers are designed to be water-resistant — which means solution applied directly to the surface will bead off rather than soak through. The scoring tool breaks through that surface barrier with minimal pressure, creating a path for the solution to reach the paste layer underneath without gouging or damaging the wall surface behind it.

What makes border removal different from full wallpaper removal? +
Wallpaper borders are typically narrower, often applied over existing wallpaper or paint, and stuck with a stronger adhesive to stop them peeling at the edges. The Border Kit includes HydroSheets sized specifically for borders so you get full coverage across the width without the sheets sliding or bunching.
Will it remove the border without damaging the wallpaper underneath? +
Yes — that's the key advantage over steamers and spray strippers. SimpleStrip works at the adhesive layer only, so if your border is applied over wallpaper you want to keep, the solution won't soak through and damage it. Take your time with the scoring tool and don't over-perforate.
Can I cut the HydroSheets to fit my border? +
Yes — the HydroSheets can be cut to any width with a pair of scissors. If your border is narrower than the sheet, simply trim to size before soaking. This also means one sheet can cover multiple narrow sections, making them go even further.
How much border will the kit cover? +
The Border Kit is sized for a typical whole-home border project. If you're working on a particularly large or heavily adhesed job, additional HydroSheets for Borders are available separately.
How long should I leave the HydroSheet on the border before stripping? +
Leave the soaked HydroSheet in place for 15–20 minutes to give the solution time to fully penetrate and dissolve the adhesive. For older borders or those with heavy paste, leave for a little longer. Don't let the sheet dry out — use the sprayer to keep it moist if needed.
